The Mud Pit

The Mud Pit - It’s filthy…it’s grimy…it’s wet…and it’s totally amazing!!! This is a supervised program area that gives kids a great chance to get dirty.

Mountain Biking

Making use of the miles of trails available to us on our own property and the Crown land that surrounds us, Mountain biking is a great program for the energetic. Kids are able to participate in a variety of trails, which vary in length and difficulty. Once each session, campers are provided an opportunity to venture to a local Mountain Biking area for a half day off site.

Play Field

The hub of all field games, this grassy knoll is home to lots of traditional field sports…as well as a handful of creative/unique Camp Can-Aqua games.

Tree Climbing Initiative

The campers looking for the thrills of high adventure, our climbing initiative is a perfect place for you! Our course, set up on trees in our woods, allows kids to climb up to 30 feet as they challenge themselves to complete various obstacles along the way.

Hammock Hangouts

What could possibly be greater then taking a break with your cabin mates and spending some time in the Can-Aqua Hammock Hangouts? Located inside each cabin section, they are a great way to rest while remaining outdoors. The hammocks are located in the shade and offer a terrific space for kids to socialize within.

Archery Range

What camp is not complete without Archery? The Can-Aqua range has seen thousands of archers step up to develop their skills. Our instructional levels are also some of the most popular awards for kids to work towards while they are at camp.

Bouldering

New in 2015, this rock face is a great beginner wall for kids interested in developing skills in climbing. The traverse encourages kids to move along the wall without touching the ground.

Arts And Creativity Complex

One of our newest additions to camp, our Creativity Complex is the hub of originality. Can-Aqua is very proud of the wide range of creative options available to kids and we feel such creativity deserves a space that is special. Situated in the trees, our campers can dream big with their heads in the clouds. Estimated completion in Fall 2016.

Boys' Cabin Loop

Located on the East end of our property, our boys cabins are a rustic, yet cody summer home for all the boys at camp. Each bunk has ten beds inside and are conveniently located near a Can-Aqua Kybo and our outdoor sinks for drinking, cleaning and tooth brushing! The outdoor porches on each cabin provide great storage space and inside, each camper can look forward to dedicated cubbies. Cabin life might not be as luxurious as having your own room…but it is much more fun. The cabin loops are a sense of pride for Can-Aqua Campers.

Health Centre

Our medical hub, the camp health centre is where our doctors and nurses spend most of their time each session. Recognizing the importance of being nurturing and supportive of the campers while they are away from home, our centre is a poplar place for not only cuts and scrapes.

Camp Office

Our very own little pentagon…but square and much less secretive, the Camp Can-Aqua office is the head of our administration efforts at camp. Once you arrive, our friendly staff will be happy to welcome you at any point of your incredible adventure at camp.

The Sugar Shack

Sugar Shack - One of the most popular buildings at camp, this is much more than a fancy tuck shop. While during the summer we open daily for kids to get snacks and treats, during the spring months, this builiding is the main focus of something else we are very proud of. Camp Can-Aqua makes maple syrup! With over 4000 trees in our sugar bush, and some of the greatest syrup guru's in the country, Can-Aqua pure is the way Ontario Maple Syrup should taste!

Rec Hall

The Rec Hall at Can-Aqua is home to many of our floor sports. A great indoor space, the hall can be fast paced with floor hockey, comical with “Who’s line is it Anyway” on the stage, and even risky during our “Kid Casino Night”.

Arts and Crafts

If you like a space with paint all over the walls, coloured feathers in the air and google eyes everywhere!!!!…then this building was made for you. Come on over and make your very own interesting creations with glue, glitter, and all the crazy craft supplies available.

Camp Craft

Home to our outdoor enthusiasts, Camp Craft is where kids come to learn survival skills…and cook s’mores!

Lipsett Low Ropes Course

Our initiative course, named after a remarkable staff member and alumnus, is used for team building and cooperation exercises. In addition, it happens to be a lot of fun. Kids can look forward to swinging from ropes, crossing lava and even trying to make their way out of the Bermuda triangle.

Girls' Cabin Loop

Located on the West end of our property, our girls cabins are a rustic, yet cody summer home for all the girls at camp. Basketball Court

A popular spot for games like Bump and 21…as well as the odd pick up game of basketball.

The Dining Hall

At the Camp Can-Aqua Dining hall, meals are just the beginning! This building welcomes our entire community three times each day and is where you will experience first hand the sprit that is Can-Aqua. Tables are divided into cabins and all meals are served “Family Style”, which means campers eat together with their counsellors. Out food service staff works hard on the food served each day and our camp dietician oversees all special diets and allergies. We are proud of our food service and boast of a salad and alternatives bar at lunch and dinner each day.

Unstructured Play

At free time and during transitional times, our main camp area attracts all campers for unstructured place. Come enjoy a game of chess, sphiree, ping pong, basketball, frisbee, soccer, gaga ball, tether ball, frolf and so much more.

The Pit Stop

When you walk through the door, the 50’s diner motif takes you back to the good old days of Rock and Roll. This space is used as a fun indoor classroom for our Leadership Department and is also where kids can go on sleep in day for some very popular throw back cartoons!!!

The Waterfront

The waterfront gate is the starting place to all things wet! Once through this gate, campers have the option of participating in tons of different lakefront options. The waterfront is one of our most used areas at camp. In addition to program periods, the waterfront is always open during free time and is frequented in the mornings by any camper wanting a quick dip before breakfast.

Upper Deck

A stage, a popular picnic spot and a meeting space for our nature programs, the Upper Deck has witnessed some terrific performances!

Ski Dock

Sometimes simple is best. These small and simple docks are the meeting spots and the take off for our ski/wakeboard programs.

Council Campfire

One of the main campfire areas at camp, Council is a fire by the lake, which we visit periodically throughout a session. It becomes centre stage at the end of each session as it is where the Council Competition take place. On the final evening of our Can-Aqua Games, our teams come together for challenges of strength, wit and agility.

Treasure Bay

Treasure Bay is a great spot for snorkelling enthusiasts.  It has been said that it is the true location of endless treasure lost after "The Inferno” the ship of pirate One Eyed Willy sank just beyond our shore line.

Waterskiing, Wakeboarding & Kneeboarding

We are known for our water sports. Can-Aqua is proud to offer both instructional programming and recreational opportunities for kids interested in these boat sport activities.

Reflection Rock

This is a great picnic destination and where our entire camp meets mid way through each session for our reflections program. Campers and Staff are welcome to share a song, story or reflection as we look out onto the lake.
